Since last Wednesday, we’ve been making artificial snow at Muntele Mic. Temperatures have been low over the past few days, and we couldn’t help but think how much better things could have been if, during the past seven years of delays, we had managed to convince the local authorities just how important a reservoir is for securing the water supply.
Unfortunately, we’re limited to using just two snow cannons. That’s all the river’s flow can support, especially in this dry year. We’re focusing on covering the most critical areas of the slope and waiting for natural snowfall to make opening the season possible.
If the resort were managed by open-minded leadership, given the recent freezing temperatures, we could have opened the season this Friday — a benefit for everyone, including the uncooperative and obstructive local authorities.
We’ll share more updates soon about the opening of the 2024-2025 winter season.
